After a month’s long break, Team India will be back in action on Wednesday, August 4th, 2021.

The Indian squad did not only face injury woes but also suspected several COVID-19 cases in the camp. Wicketkeeper-batsman, Rishabh Pant was infected with the virus. After recovery, Pant joined the men in blue in Durham for practice and training sessions for the upcoming 5 match series against England.
After Shubman Gill, Washington SundarandAvesh Khan, Mayank Agrawal also sustained an injury. Opener Mayank Agrawal will not be available for the 1st test as he suffered a concussion during the practice session.
KL Rahul is likely to open the innings with Rohit Sharma. KL Rahul scored a tremendous ton in the 3-day warm-up match against the County Select XI.
However, Prithvi Shaw and Suryakumar Yadav will be joining the Indian squad as replacements for the 2nd test.
On the other hand, Team England lost balance, as their all-rounder player, Ben Stokes announced an indefinite break from all the formats of the game. Jofra Archer will also miss the series against India.
Team India registered the series by 3-1 in the England tour of India, this February.
