Indian Test team led by skipper Virat Kohli is leading the current Pataudi Trophy Series by 2-1 after the historic test win at Oval on the night of Wednesday.  The visitors have also moved to the top of the points table of World Test Championship 2021-2023. This was the first Test win of India at Oval since 1971.

India will be looking forward to winning the Pataudi Trophy by winning the last Test match. It will be the first time since 2007 if India wins this series.

Previously India has won a test series under Ajit Wadekar in 1971, under Kapil Dev in 1986, drawn the series under Sourav Ganguly in 2002 and won under Rahul Dravid in 2007.

India – Rohit in the post match presentation said  “Hopefully, I will be fit for the next Test, as of now, it’s good.” So there are doubts on his availability. Also scan reports of Pujara are yet to come, so his availability also comes under doubt.

England – Jos Butter is included in the squad and will be the vice-captain.

Pitch Report

It is the fastest track in England and is historically good for batting but spin come into the picture later in the game. This pitch is expected to be a batting-friendly track in the 1st innings but in the 4th innings, spin will be there and the batsmen may struggle.

Toss plays a vital role in the result of the match, as this has been a somewhat batting friendly, fast track. So, the team that wins tosses chooses to bat first most of the time.

The Indian team has been on a dream run after the last Test win at the Oval. They are least likely to make any change but due to busy and exhausting schedules they might rest Bumrah and Siraj and bring in Shami and Ishant.
